Money from your property sale may be waiting for you.

When a home or property sells at a foreclosure or tax sale for more than was owed, the leftover money belongs to the former owner or their family. At W. Gold Standard, we put you first, hold your hand, and guide you through every step of getting it back.

  • No fee unless we recover your money
  • Licensed attorneys handle court filings when required
  • Heirs and family members can claim too

How it works

We handle the research, paperwork and follow-up. You'll always know what's happening and what comes next.

  1. We talk it through

Tell us about the property. You don't need any documents ready. A name and an address are enough to start.

  2. We confirm the money is there

We check court and county records to confirm that surplus funds exist and who is entitled to them.

  3. You review a simple agreement

You'll see our fee in writing before you sign anything. If we don't recover your money, you owe nothing.

  4. We file and follow up

We prepare the paperwork, help you get it notarized, and work with licensed attorneys when a court filing requires one. You get updates the whole way.

  5. You receive your funds

When the court or county releases the money, you receive your share with a clear breakdown of every dollar.

Who we help

If a property connected to you or your family was sold to pay a debt, you may have a claim.

Former homeowners

Your home or land was sold at a foreclosure or tax sale, and it sold for more than what was owed.

Heirs and family members

A parent, spouse or relative owned the property and has passed away. The money may now belong to the family, even without a will.

Estates and executors

You're handling an estate and a property in it was sold. We help gather the paperwork the court or county requires.

How to know we're legitimate

Surplus funds are real, and so are scams. Here's exactly what to expect from us.

We will always

  • Tell you which court or county is holding the funds
  • Show you our fee in writing before you sign
  • Encourage you to check the records yourself
  • Give you a direct number to reach us

We will never

  • Ask you to pay anything before your money is recovered
  • Ask for your bank login or passwords
  • Pretend to be the court, county or government

You have the right to file a claim with the court or county on your own. Many people choose us because the process involves deadlines, records searches and legal paperwork, and we handle all of it for you.

Common questions

Why didn't anyone tell me about this money?

Courts and counties usually mail a notice to the address of the property that was sold. If you had already moved, or the owner had passed away, the notice was likely never seen.

What does it cost?

Nothing unless we recover your money. Our fee is a percentage of the funds recovered, and it's shown in writing in your agreement before you sign. If nothing is recovered, you owe nothing.

How long does it take?

It depends on the county and whether a court hearing is needed. Simple claims can move in a few months, and cases with heirs or competing claims can take longer. We keep you updated throughout.

The owner passed away. Can the family still claim?

Often, yes. Heirs may need documents such as a death certificate or proof of relationship, and we help you gather everything the court or county asks for.

Can I file the claim myself?

Yes. You have that right. We're here if you'd rather have experienced people handle the research, deadlines and filings for you.

We put the customer first. We hold your hand and guide you through the process of recovering the money you're owed.
